Charlie has gotten used to saying, "Roll Tide!" this year. Adam has been training him well....as well as his two grandmothers (GrandBama/Bambi and KK), his Uncle Geeeee, and his grandfather GrandCharlie/Cha Cha. I'm sure he will be wearing crimson all this week.
We are in Jackson right now visiting our cousins. Today at a family birthday party, Santa Claus came in and brought a few presents to the kids. He had presents for Charlie, Lily Kate, Price, and the other kids. What a special memory! Charlie wasn't sure about sitting in "Ho's" lap, but he was sure about waving bye to him and telling him to get in his "boomboom" or car. We'll add some pictures later on when we get back home.
We haven't updated the blog in a while...mostly due to lack of time, but I did want to put in a few funny things that Charlie has been doing lately.
--When Charlie sees Elmo or any other Elmo-like puppet, he calls him "Mama." Elmo is on almost every one of his diapers, so when he has a dirty diaper, he walks around with a grimace saying "Mama, Mama, Mama." Who would have thought that he would be associating my name with his diapers? You can never know with kiddos.
--Charlie loves his Uncle G, my brother Gary. The other night Gary watched him for us, and we knew it was a success when we pulled in the driveway and looked into the kitchen window. Gary was singing and dancing in front of Charlie with a Mickey Mouse hat perched atop his head. Thanks for loving our Charlie, Uncle G.
--Charlie loves to say his prayers. When we pray for my parents (GrandBama/Bambi and GrandCharlie/Cha Cha), Charlie has always prayed for the "dawg"-Lily. Well, since he has gotten to know Uncle G's dogs, he wants to pray for them as well. Their names are Chazz and Cooper. He wants to always pray for "Chaaaa" and "Poooop."
--One of his favorite shows to watch on Disney is "Little Einsteins." On some episodes, there is a Big Jet that flies around. He loves to talk about this character, but says, "Je-et." Who knew that the word jet could be a two-syllable word?
--My mom came to visit a few weeks ago. Her given grandmother name is GrandBama....or that is what we have been calling her. Well, while she was at our house, Charlie named her, and it might stick: Bambi. She has made him some clothes and he walks around saying, "Bambi, bambi, bambi." This makes all of us smile.
--It has been so neat to be around our 18-month-old while his language is developing. Here are a few more words that he likes to say: choochoo=train, dog, sssss=Price, shhhhh=Shelby, boop=milk, bops=grapes, nana=banana, twee=tree, ball=ball, etc.
We are so thankful that Charlie is now 18 months. He amazes us every day with the things that he knows. Babies are like little sponges absorbing information all around them. Thank you so much for friends and family that have loved him and helped him along the way. He is a delight each and every day. We love you, Sweet Charlie.
